I don’t like nuts. They have a weird texture. Ok peanuts and raisins can be a bit addictive, but the raisins make the whole thing better. But I digress. I don’t like nuts, I pick them out of my cereal. I leave the nuts on the counter in the kitchen for the nutty people in the house.
Yesterday Morning Marla sent CJ to get a ‘ponytail’ (CJ is convinced that the elastic bands that get used to make ponytails in her hair are actually called ponytails). Anyway Of she runs and she comes back later with no elastic bands and is chewing on something, that sounded like it was an elastic band.
You have probably figured it out by now, but I hadn’t.
Give mommy the ponytail.
I don’t have one.
It’s in your mouth.
It’s not in my mouth.
You are chewing on something in your mouth give it to me.
But it’s all in pieces.
(At this point I can just imagine small pieces of elastic band (it was yellow in my imagination) causing grief further down the gastro-intestinal tract)
Spit it out (I offer my hand)
I can’t. It’s all crumbly.(but she tried and when I saw what was coming out of her mouth)…
What’s this?
A nut!
Where’s the ponytail?
I don’t have one.
Oh, sorry babe, I thought you were chewing on a pony tail. Its ok you can eat the nuts Daddy leaves on the counter.
Man I felt bad for grilling her over a stupid nut. But then if she had just gone and fetched the elastics like she was asked…
I don’t like nuts. Especially the mess they make when you ask your three year old to spit them out onto your hand.
Do you like nuts? Three year olds?

I like my 3-year-old a lot, but he often drives me nuts.
I think that is pretty much what being a dad (or mom) is about.
Ron, you are nuts!!
lol
I sometimes get paranoid with Stephen, umm what are you eating? (thinking in the back of my mind it has to be that piece of bacon that fell of the pizza a month ago) spit it out now.
Funny, that at dinner, he spits stuff out without me asking, hmmm
Yea, I know that one. Alicia loves getting zerbited (no idea how to spell that), the problem is when she tries to make the noise when we are trying to give her her porridge.
